THE IMPACT
"We’re a tiny company with our day to day consisting of everything from ordering raw materials to shooting campaigns, so as much as we wanted to prioritize philanthropy we just couldn’t quite get to it in a meaningful way. Scot came to us with an open mind and crafted a tangible plan of action that fit our brand’s capabilities, but most important - truly listened to us and the needs of the people we wanted to help."
— Lisa Schulner Fine, Co-Founder of Quiet Town
"Working with Scot to concept and execute my brand’s giving component was an absolute pleasure. He listened intently as I took him on the journey of creating In Common and was able to take nuggets from our conversations and turn them into a relatable and tangible way for us to think about giving back to the community. As a solo entrepreneur, Scot’s knowledge of the non-profit space was of particular value to me as it was so far outside of my skill set, yet so essential to finding a way to connect my brand to doing something meaningful. We landed on a great partnership with the charity of our choice and I would never have been able to do so without Scot as a thought partner."
— Allison Bloch, Founder of In Common
“My husband passed away in 2016 and we took a severe setback - we were displaced, lost our home, income, father and husband. Living in an urban area and not having a father around can make a young black boy stray and change for the worse. Scot became a mentor and positive role-model to my children and plays such a major role in our lives. He is the most decent, kind, charitable, benevolent, selfless, compassionate person I know, and for that, my family and I are forever grateful for him.”
— Michelle, Camp Power Mom
“I’ve had the privilege of getting to work with Scot over the years and have watched him build a successful business that gives back. He is a thoughtful partner and entrepreneur that makes sound business decisions, always with giving back in mind and leading with heart.”
— Sean Morrissey, Shopbop, HEAD OF GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS
“Having worked in the nonprofit sector for some time I often meet well intentioned people that want to do “good work” and give back in some way. More often than not that “good work” results in buying a ticket to an annual gala, a donation of some kind or a one time volunteer effort. However, Scot was different. He genuinely wanted to better understand the needs of youth from NYC’s most underserved communities. What was even more unique about Scot was that he actually did something about it! With Camp Power, Scot created a weeklong camp experience that can only be described as magical. After working with him at camp, Scot wanted to do more for kids, families and communities, leading to STATE bag drop rallies, college tours and scholarships, free tutoring and food delivery services, annual MLK Jr. Day celebrations, and access to COVID-19 recovery services are just a few of the countless ways Scot has honored his commitment to the kids and communities he serves. I honestly never know what wild idea Scot will call to get my advice on, but no matter how grandiose the idea or what it takes to make it work, the effort will always be to make a positive impact… and I have yet to see him fail at doing so.”
— Bashan Fernandez, Roads to Success, Chief Program Officer
“We met Scot through the Principal For a Day program, and his visit added an inspiring and memorable page to the story of our school. As soon as he entered our building, his energy level quickly matched that of our community. Principal Scot immediately related to our youngsters - he was easy-going and instantly bonded with our 450 students. Principal Scot then became the guest of honor at our 19th annual career day celebration and was welcomed with an ovation and open arms from our students, staff members and families. It is with absolute pleasure and gratefulness that I express my heartfelt indebtedness on behalf of our entire school community, for his ingenuous partnership with our school.”
